family • photo of the day • photography • travelright before you get into the mountains from boulder, there’s a little park in boulder called settlers park that is a quick 20 min hike up to a nice view of boulder and out onto the plains. we all (sans ky, who had to work) got up at 530 and hiked up to watch the sunrise. we then drove straight into the heart of the mountains and up to nederland, a small town about 30 min in. we found a quaint cafe for breakfast and followed that with a drive through the hills.
after heading back into boulder for a quick cool down and some laundry at ky’s, the four of us headed into denver to explore for the afternoon and meet up with some of michael’s highschool friends. we went to the rei flagship store, and walked around the river and downtown areas. it was a really beautiful city, and we can’t wait to go back and explore more.
we got back to boulder and met ky at the spot, a local bouldering gym, and hung out for a couple hours there. this was probably one of the fullest days we’ve had in a long time, and it felt great! as did the sleep we got that night.
glad the 50º and sunny weather has held up for us, but bummed tomorrow is our last day here.
